In the summer of 2024, our family embarked on a transformative journey, leaving the Netherlands to embrace a new life in Portugal. Our dream was to find a serene piece of land where we could build a sustainable lifestyle and create a sanctuary for others seeking peace and connection with nature.

The perfect place
Thanks to HomeKey Portugal, we found the perfect place to turn this dream into reality. Through their guidance and property tours, we discovered this beautiful land, a place that instantly felt like home.

Our search led us to a picturesque property near Barbaído. From the moment we set foot on this land, we felt an undeniable connection. The lush greenery, rolling hills, and tranquil ambiance captivated our hearts. On August 30, 2024, we took a significant step forward by making the down payment, officially marking the beginning of our new chapter.

Moving to Portugal
The transition from the Netherlands to Portugal was both exhilarating and challenging. With our three children in tow, we embarked on a three-day journey, arriving at our new home on November 18, 2024. Just days later, on November 26, we finalized the purchase, solidifying our commitment to this beautiful land.

Preparations for Viva Verde Campo
The months that followed were filled with dedication and hard work. We focused on creating Viva Verde Campo, an off-grid camping site that harmonizes with the natural surroundings. Our vision was to offer guests an opportunity to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse themselves in the tranquility of nature.

Reflecting on our journey, we are profoundly grateful to HomeKey Portugal for helping us find this incredible place and guiding us through the process.
